| Question: |
I wanted to know which medicine / chemical cane be used to clean pennis head & foreskin and vagina and make them germ/bacteria free so that oral sex can be done without any fear of any diesease. |
| Answer - |
The only mode of protection is to have barrier to avoid direct contact. One can explore with condoms; when used correctly and consistently and where there is no breakage or leakage, provide effective protection against sexually transmitted infections and HIV.
As for licking of the female genital and anus, protection like a dental dam, household food wrap such as Glad Wrap and a latex condom cut up and open flat can be used. Dental dams are small, thin, square pieces of latex that are used by dentists but can also be used for oral sex. They get their names from their use in dental procedures. This is available from the dentist and pharmacy as well. |

| Question: |
How long can HIV virus survive after ejaculation even when the cum is not dried yet? I have been sharing my brother's masturbator (w/o his knowledge) recently. Is it a safe practice since HIV virus is not known to survive long in open air. Recently, while playing with his masturbator, I realised there is a white fluid (cum diluted with lubricant?) in it. I'm not sure whose cum is that since I havent ejaculated. However, am I at risk of any diseases? Do I need to go for any tests? |
| Answer - |
If you did not immediately use the masturbator after your brother had used it, it is unlikely that you are at risk for STI and HIV. However, as a general precaution and safety, sex toys should not be shared. It should also be washed or cleaned after use. |

| Question: |
i used ky massage oil instead of ky jelly and am burning inside. what should i do? |
| Answer - |
We would advice you to consult a doctor or a specialist like the DSC Clinic for a physical examination.
Do not use oil-based lubricants like vaseline, massage oil, moisturising lotion etc with condom, as the oil can weakened the condom.

| Question: |
I had commercial sex for the past 2 days with 4 different persons. During all these encounters (oral and vaginal), I had used condoms (Durex extra safe latex properly mounted, and without leakage or slippage), for every sex act. Even the handjobs were done with condoms. I also promptly wash my penis and pubic region thoroughly with alcohol swabs and antiseptic lotion immediately after sex. I know that the risk of STIs (including herpes, NGU, HIV) is minimal with appropriate use of condoms. However, my question is how much coverage or length of the condom is neccesary (e.g. 70, 80 or 90% coverage as long as the entire prepuce and urethra is fully covered) for it to be effective. I roll down the condoms to the very bottom of the penis shaft but it may not always reach the pubis fully depending on the stage of erection. |
| Answer - |
If you did have protected oral, vaginal and anal sex, the risk is minimal for STI and HIV. As the condom did cover the tip to the base of the penis, you had been well protected. Condoms, when used correctly and consistently and where there is no breakage or leakage, provide effective protection against sexually transmitted infections and HIV.
The use of alcohol swabs and antiseptic lotion on the genital is not advisable as this may cause other skin problems and infections. |

doctor, this is a very important question. i had protected sex with an unknown girl yesterday. however, how would i know whether the condom is leaking or whether the condom ruptured? what are the chances of the condom rupturing or leaking? |
| Answer - |
We would not be in the position to know if the condom that you had used would give you a problem. We could comment that if you had used the condom correctly and consistently and where there is no breakage or leakage, it would provide effective protection against sexually transmitted infections and HIV. |

| Question: |
Hello, I recently met a guy at a lifestyle club and we ended up using our hands on eachother. I gave him a handjob and he had his fingers inside me. We don't kiss on each others lips, but have on each other's body. We basically just use our hands and will kiss neck, chest, ass area. I have gone to the club and have done the same thing several times with him. i am thinking of surprising him by using my tounge on his testicles next time I am using my hand on him. What sort of risk have I put myself in so far and what sort of risk am I looking at if i add the tounge to testicle into the equation? Thanks! |
| Answer - |
You will put yourself at risk if you had unprotected oral and anal sex. If there is rimming(oral-anal contact), protection like should be used as well. This has been considered as very low risk for HIV but Sexually Transmitted Infections(STIs) such as Herpes can be transmitted. In fact, the giver stands a risk of being infected with Hepatitis A because of the oral-faecal contact.
Licking of anus can be protected by using a dental dam, household food wrap like Glad Wrap and a latex condom cut up and opened flat. Dental dams are small, thin, square pieces of latex that are used by dentists but can also be used for oral-vaginal or oral-anal sex. They get their names from their use in dental procedures. | Question: |
Hi doc,
id like to know if i have a cut or sore on my penis what are the risks of me getting std/hiv from receiving oral sex without any protection on? |
| Answer - |
Unprotected oral sex poses a low risk for HIV but other Sexually Transmitted Infections(STI) such as Gonorrhoea, Herpes and Syphilis can be transmitted.
The risk increases if you have sores and broken skin.
Thus, it is advisable to use a condom even for oral sex, especially with someone of unknown status. Condoms, when used correctly and consistently and where there is no breakage or leakage, provide effective protection against sexually transmitted infections and HIV. |

| Answer - |
If you had used protection for oral, vaginal and anal sex, and the condom did cover your penis from the tip to the base, your risk for STIs and HIV is minimal. | Question: |
I am a male and i got a massage from a male masseur yesterday. He gave we unprotected oral sex,(I did not ejaculate) and he licked my rectum. I gave him a handjob and licked his balls. Today I have a cough ,and my ass is itchy. Should I get tested for any std's ? Am I at risk for any from these activities? Is the cough just a coincidence ???
Thanks |
| Answer - |
Your cough and itch are not indications of STIs, please see a doctor. However, the licking of anus and rectum, and the unprotected oral sex would put one at risk of infections.
Unprotected oral, vaginal and anal sex will put one at risk of STI and HIV. Do not put yourself at risk by using a condom. Condoms, when used correctly and consistently and where there is no breakage or leakage, provide effective protection against sexually transmitted infections and HIV.
For a person who performs licking of vagina or anus, he/she can protect themselves by using a dental dam, household food wrap like Glad Wrap and a latex condom cut up and opened flat. | Question: |
tell me, if a condom breaks, fails or anything.. will the male feel it during intercourse, and does it tear largely or is it possible that the failure of condom may go unnoticed or small tear which may not be seen...?? plz answer wholely... |
| Answer - |
Condoms have been made safely and tested for use. When used correctly and consistently and where there is no breakage or leakage, effectively minimise the risk of sexually transmitted infections and HIV.
The feeling of a torn or broken condom is largely dependant on the individuals.
The durability of a condom is also dependant on the user to read and follow the instructions on the packaging of the condoms before use.
How To Put On A Condom:
1. Open the packet carefully so that you do not damage the condom. Do not test the condom by unrolling, inflating or stretching it; it has already been tested by the manufacturer.
2. If the condom does not have a teat at the end, unroll 1 cm of it to leave a space at the end for collecting semen.
3. Pinch the teat or the 1cm length that you have left at the end of the condom to expel any air.
4. Hold the condom over the tip of the penis and with the other hand unroll it down to the base of the penis.
To prevent contact of any body fluids between the partners, put on the condom as soon as the penis is erect or hard.
How To Take Off A Condom
1. After ejaculation, hold the condom firmly around the penis whilst withdrawing, to prevent spillage of the semen.
2. Slip the condom off the penis carefully. Wrap it up and throw it into the rubbish bin or chute.
To prevent spillage of semen, withdraw the penis before it gets soft.
Precautions
1. Use only rubber condoms for protection against sexually transmitted infections.
2. Do not use a condom after its expiry date. If this is not stated, then do not use condoms that are more than 2 years old.
3. Keep condoms in a cool, dry place, not in for example your car's glove compartment
4. If you want extra lubricant, buy a water-based one like K-Y jelly, Top gel.
Do not use saliva as a lubricant.
5. Also do not use oil-based lubricants like vaseline, oils, grease and moisturizing lotions. |
